After spending many years as an academic and practicing psychologist, I began a journey into wholistic health practice. At first I must admit I was a full-fledged skeptic. In 2006 I was curious about this “new age” stuff so I enrolled in a Reiki class where I was introduced to energy healing.
Along the way I learned many types of energy work but none have had as much impact on my life as Reiki and BodyTalk. Working within these modalities I was able to overcome grief and find a new direction in my life.
Reiki is a simple yet easily learned method of natural healing. After several years of practice and a trip to Japan to visit the birthplace of Reiki, I was initiated as a Reiki Master. Currently I am a Certified Reiki Teacher (RT-CRA) with the Canadian Reiki Association.
My interest in energy medicine broadened to a system called BodyTalk. As a psychologist I was originally drawn to BodyTalk by the possibility of learning a method that could be used to treat anxiety and phobias. Through my training to become a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner (CBP) I developed an interest in helping others with allergies and autoimmune disorders.
The BodyTalk approach to allergies and food intolerances is based on the idea that the body is able to change its response to an external substance that is perceived as harmful. Rather than having to change the environment you can reestablish communication in the body so that you no longer react negatively. This means you can smell the flowers without sneezing and sniffling and having to stay indoors.
Currently I am offering a practice that integrates my knowledge and experience with the natural healing of energy medicine.
